Est. cost: Free to hike; Skylift $11/ person one way
Hike to one of Kentucky's most iconic landmarks. The Original Trail is a short but steady uphill hike to Natural Bridge, with roughly 400 feet of elevation gain along the way. Once you're at the top, explore the bridge and overlook. (Round-trip Skylift tickets are also available if you'd rather skip the hike altogether.)
Est. cost: $10-$13/ person
Not every Gorge adventure needs to involve an actual gorge. Join us for 18 holes at Thrillsville Adventure Golf, with waterfalls, ponds, bridges, mystery holes, and some friendly competition.
Dinner provided.
Our official kickoff to Wedding Weekend! Join us in the Zen Den (private event space) at Miguel's for pizza, drinks, and a J+G themed trivia game. A chance to catch up before the weekend's adventures begin.
Pizza provided. Trivia prowess optional.
(Sunrise: 7:20AM; Sunset: 7:59PM)
Est. cost: $85/person, plus taxes and fees
Part hiking, part climbing, and a very different way to see the Gorge. The via ferrata follows nearly a mile of sandstone cliff using iron rungs, cables, ladders, and suspension bridges, reaching heights of up to 120 feet. No climbing experience is necessary. (Ages 10-14 must climb with an adult.)
Take a morning hike along the Rock Bridge Trail, a roughly 1.4-mile loop through the Gorge. Along the way, we'll stop at Creation Falls and Rock Bridge, a natural sandstone arch with a creek flowing beneath it. The trail is relatively short and moderate, with some elevation change along the way, but we're leaving plenty of time to explore, take pictures, and enjoy the falls without turning the morning into a race.
Est. cost: $70/ person
Trade the cliffs for something completely different. The Gorge Underground's Classic Kayak Tour is a guided paddle through a 100-year-old flooded limestone mine. The tour itself lasts about an hour, and no kayaking experience is necessary. Kayaks and safety equipment are provided. Expect cool temperatures, dark tunnels, and a side of the Gorge you definitely can't see from a hiking trail.
Plan on: $20-$40/ person
We'll be heading to RedPoint Barbeque around 6PM and you're welcome to do the same. This isn't a reservation or a formal group dinner, so grab a table with whoever you like, order what sounds good, and pick up your own tab.
(Sunrise: 7:18AM; Sunset: 8PM)
Breakfast sandwich provided.
Start wedding day with an easy-ish morning hike and a pretty great view. We’ll hike the roughly one-mile Sky Bridge loop in Daniel Boone National Forest, crossing over and beneath the natural sandstone arch with overlooks of the Gorge along the way.
The trail is short, but does include stairs and some exposed areas along the ridge and cliffs. There are no guardrails in some spots, so keep that in mind if heights aren't your thing.
We'll take our time, enjoy the views, and refuel with breakfast sandwiches.
Time to squeeze in anything you haven't tried yet. Horseback riding, ATV driving, gem mining... you name it! Check out some options, here!
